We faced the challenge of creating an information portal for individuals in need of support, as well as for people and organizations ready to offer that help. A website equipped with the latest news, verified and reliable data, and facts.

2Our Approach

For this task, we chose the popular Content Management System WordPress. We developed a creative web design featuring animations and voiceovers to enhance the user experience. Most of the information on the website was analyzed from various news sites, making the resource relevant and up-to-date.

Task

The primary goal of the website was to provide up-to-date information about the situation in Ukraine for Ukrainian refugees in Europe. Additionally, it aimed to offer sources and links to where and what kind of assistance they can receive.

Solution

Our team developed an information portal with current and relevant data, where not all information needs to be entered manually. Instead, actual information is analyzed from verified websites.

The website should fulfill two functions. On the one hand, information for refugees and, on the other, general information for other visitors who know little about Ukraine.

Solution

Task

We faced the challenge of designing a national website portal that is both vibrant and emotionally engaging. On one hand, the solution needed to be technologically advanced, and on the other, it had to evoke bright emotions through its visual messages.

Our studio analyzed all the website portals presented in this niche and offered the best solution for implementing the website. The website is vibrant, creative, and functional.

Design Creation

Author and innovative work of our design team. The idea was to showcase the peaceful and flourishing image of Ukraine before the war reached its territory, highlighting the contrast between what the aggressor has destroyed and what has been lost. The most significant architectural monuments for which Ukraine was known were to be shown, along with what has happened to them now.

Interactive Map:

The interactive map developed for this website was the brainchild of our web studio. Our designers have mapped all the sights and monuments of Ukraine, while the layout designers have created an interactive, responsive website.
We sought every bit of inspiration we could find to present our vision. Some drawings were adapted from photos and edited by us, while others were created from scratch.

Clicking on any object will display a description of that particular item. A special slider allows you to view before and after photos. By moving the cursor, you can see the difference between the state before and after the war. The website features current photos showing what is happening to each architectural object now, highlighting the extent of destruction or damage since the war began.

As we scrolled through the website, we created animations and displayed drawings showing how the destruction from explosions appears on the map. Our top designers and illustrators worked on this idea, and the selected soundtrack complements and illustrates this image.

Illustrations

The illustrators and designers of our web studio were incredibly creative in designing the portal page. We hand-drew each illustration on a tablet and then converted them into digital form. The main goal was to maintain the overall style of all objects while ensuring they are instantly recognizable as icons.

Icons and Pictograms

Icons and pictograms play a crucial role on this website. They are drawn in a minimalist style, yet instantly recognizable, making it clear what object they represent in Ukrainian. Clicking on them provides a description of the respective location.

People visit this website for various reasons. Some are looking for help and information on where they can get it. Others, both individuals and organizations, offer their assistance and want those in need to know about it. We have organized the information for different types of visitors; the bright buttons in the top corner of the screen catch the eye and invite selection.

Stories:

These are stories told by people about the war in Ukraine. All the stories published on the website have been collected by us from real people who report events that happened to them personally. Every story on this website is unique, but they all share a common issue - the war. The content is collected by our team and edited by the editors at Web Studio NoLorem.

Receiving and Providing Help

Segmenting the requests was one of the most important tasks we set for ourselves. When creating this website, our team considered that it could be directed at different people - those who can help and those who need help. Therefore, we treated each request separately. We introduced a feature that offers assistance in different countries.

Our programmers created a template for a typical country assistance page, an article page template, and much more to facilitate and support the work of filling the site. The simplicity of updating with current information allows the website administrator to easily refresh the necessary details.

Our designers considered the principles of user-friendliness when developing the news page. We focused on the usability of the site, studied top news and magazine sites, and selected the best solution for our purposes. The vivid imagery underscores the emotions we feel when thinking about war, and the highlights on the website offer real help to refugees.
